                                  Ingredients

Mustard - 1tsp
onion - 1 finely chopped
Tomatoes - 3 chopped
Green chillies - 4 or Jalapeno -2
Garlic - 4 cloves
Ginger - 1 small piece finely chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - As required
Oil - 1 tsp   
Moong Dal - 200gms
Water - 600 ml  (3 times of Dal)                                   ©Soup2Sweet





Step by Step Procedure for Dal recipe


  1. Add 2 tsp of oil and mustard
  2. Mustard should splutter in oil.
  3. Add onion,garlic,chillies and ginger to the oil.Saute them well.
  4. Once onion turns brown color, add tomato and capsicum. Saute well.
  5. Once the ingredients are cooked remove it from flame.
  6. Cook moong dal in water. Stir them in regular intervals.
  7. Add turmeric powder,salt and asafoetida after the dal is well cooked.
  8. Add the sauted items to the cooked dal.
  9. Let it boil.
  10. Add corainder leaves when the gravy becomes thickened.
  11. Serve with chapathi.
