                               Aviyal / Veg gravy


                               





                            Ingredients

To Grind:

Coconut - 1 cup (grated)
Green Chilli - 2
Small onion - 4
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
                            

To Saute:

Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 10

                         Ingredients ( Serves 3 persons)

Plantain - 1
Small Brinjal - 3
Beans - 3
Carrot - 2
Potato - 2
Avarakkaai - 4 (optional)
sirukilangu -5 ( optional)
               
                    
Curd - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required



Step by Step Procedure Aviyal: 

1.Cut the vegetables into thin rectangular pieces
2.Grind all the below items to a smooth paste.

  • Coconut - 1 cup (grated)
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Small onion - 4
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

3.Add water to vegetables and cook well.
4.Add 2 tsp of curd and mix well.
5.The vegetables should be well cooked.
6.Remove if there is excess water
7.Add turmeric powder,salt,curd and grinded coconut and boil well.
8.Saute mustard and curry leaves.
9 Add Sauteed items to the gravy.
10 Let the gravy boil for 3 minutes. Mix them in regular intervals.
11. Goes good as a side dish for rice.
